• The Official Version

Dr. Angela Massey fell in love with public speaking at the age of 15. That’s when her guidance counselor volunteered her to address a citywide Youth Against Drugs conference. The 300 attendees didn’t faze the dynamic young woman. The talent was definitely there, and becoming a full-time professional speaker was just a matter of time.

Today when Dr. Massey takes center stage, she holds her audience captive with interesting anecdotes, techniques to make their workday and personal life go smoother, and motivating words that encourage real change. It’s a powerful combination.

Angela holds a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. But she’s much more than a well-educated  presenter. She’s also someone who has experienced the challenges her audiences face every day. When she speaks, her ideas and anecdotes have the ring of truth that is only possible if you’ve been in the trenches of the work-a-day world. It’s no wonder she wins fans and often repeat invitations wherever she presents!

  • The Unofficial Version

I was warned not to include this and to just let the official version stand alone. But you know what I said? Fooey! I wanted you to get a glimpse of the other side of me. So, against web design advice, here goes...

I believe I am one of the most blessed people on Planet Earth!

    Let me tell you why...

I get to do what I love to do every day! I love training, speaking, and coaching. For me, it's all about the light bulb that goes off when someone gets it. I've been at this for a while now, and some people tell me my demeanor and way of dealing with people reminds them of Oprah. I sure hope you like Oprah, because I consider that a great compliment!

When you bring me to your company for a seminar, keynote, or coaching session, you'll find that I am a down-to-earth person. I absolutely abhor people who get wrapped up in their titles and degrees! I look at it this way—my Master of Science in Organizational Leadership nor my Doctorate of Philosophy in Biblical Studies will mean nothing to you if I don't deliver! I deliver, my friend, and that's why my clients tend to bring me back year after year.

Check out this fun video from one of my seminars to get a sense of me and a good idea of my style. WARNING: This is not a professional video! Yours truly was behind the camera. I'm a great speaker and a so-so videographer! (This really flipped my web designer out!) Sorry, Lee! Anyway, I love to laugh, and I make sure we're all laughing and learning whenever I speak and train.

So what's my life like outside of speaking, training, and coaching?

I love to play Scrabble! I've been playing since I was seven! I love the game so much, I taught all three of my sons to play...oh yeah! They're pretty competitive on a Scrabble board, but they can't beat their mom—okay, once in a while I lose! I am an avid reader. One of my favorite places to spend my leisure time is the library! Lifelong learning is the key to living a fulfilled life, so I read self-help books, autobiographies of the famous and the not so famous, fiction, and pretty much any kind of book I can download from Audible.com!

I have a great family, and I'm blessed to have three awesome sons: Antoine, Adrian, and Aaron. Don't ask about the "A's"! They have given me eight adorable grandchildren. I'll resist the urge to pull out the family photos, because they really are adorable!

I'm also an ordained minister--thus, the PhD in Biblical Studies.

Oh, one last thing ... I went back to college late in life to get my education. I use this experience as a platform to motivate others and help them see that with focus anything is possible. I am a proud on-line graduate, and I wrote a book about my experience: "Going The Distance! Success Strategies for Online Students." If you'd like a complimentary copy, send me an email.

Enjoy the website, and come back often. Remember, with focus YOU can close your gaps!
